Weaving
“Sugar Rush,” focuses on the high of a self induced sugar rush that I craved for as a kid. I wanted to capture the feeling of when I would sneak downstairs into my kitchen and steal the giant bag of m&m’s that my mom would keep hidden from me and my brother. The sugar rush came from the act of being sneaky and eating all this candy and feeling like I was wild or crazy. This craziness translates into the supplemental techniques that I incorporated into my design. The pastels and vibrant color palette are supposed to translate into the actual “Sugar Rush,” that was the consequence of my actions.
The scale of this tapestry is 45” x 75”
